CHRISTINA HELEN KAMPHAUS TRAYLOR

Dodge City - Christina Helen Kamphaus Traylor, 85, died March 30, 2012 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City. She was born on February 6, 1927 in rural Ford County the daughter of Patrick James and Christina (Strecker) Slattery.

Christina married George A. Kamphaus in 1946. She worked for nearly fifty years at First National Bank in Spearville. Christina married Loren E. Taylor on October 27, 1990 at Spearville. He preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 2002.

She was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Spearville.

Christina is survived by one son, Gary Kamphaus and wife Debbie of Oklahoma City, OK; two daughters, Sharon Nightengale and husband Arlin of Topeka and Carolyn Torline and husband Dave of Hays; 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren .In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four brothers, James, Paul, Niter, and Tony; two sisters, Agnes and Mary; and one great grandchild.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Spearville on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. with Rev. Ted Stoecklein presiding. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Spearville. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City on Monday, April 2, 2012 from 12:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Vigil service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Monday, April 2, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Spearville.
