CHRISTINE DOROTHY MCCART

DODGE CITY - Christine D. McCart, 88, died Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Wesley Towers, Hutchinson, Kansas. She was born August 30, 1920, at Westphalia, Kansas, the daughter of Thomas and Emma (Salm) McCallion.

Mrs. McCart moved to the Ingalls-Cimarron area as a child. She married Victor McCart on April 19, 1941 in Dodge City. She worked as a bookkeeper at Woolworths Department Store in Dodge City.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral, Dodge City, Sacred Heart Altar Society, and Holy Cross Catholic Church, Hutchinson.

Survivors include, one daughter, Frances Smith of Hutchinson, Ks; three sons, Phillip McCart of Nicholson, Ga; Mark McCart of Norman, Okla; and Steven McCart of Clovis, NM; and one brother Donald McCallion, Elkhart, Ks. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Victor in 1973, one sister Mary Wolfe, and one brother Raymond McCallion.

Vigil service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, on Monday, May 18, 2009 at 7:30 PM . Funeral Mass will be at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 903 Central, Dodge City, on Tuesday May 19, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Anthony Suellentrop presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City, KS. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Monday, May 18, 2009 from 12:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
