Dodge City - Christopher Benson, 23, departed our world on October 20, 2018. He was born in Dodge City to Christina Jean (Benson) Clark on July 7, 1995. His step father was the late Neil Clark.
He was raised by his Aunt and Uncle Patricia Patton and the late Don Patton and spent most of his earlier life with Bob and Mary Florez who were known by Christopher as grandma and grandpa.
Christopher graduated from Dodge City High School where he was proud to be a player on the Red Demon Football Team. From there he attended Job Corp in Manhattan, Kansas and came back to Dodge City to work as a handy man. He was loved by family and those who met him and he had an infectious smile and loved to be a jokester and make people laugh. He was a huge Denver Broncos fan and car enthusiast, enjoyed to draw or work on cars but mostly loved being outdoors just fishing the day away.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Crisostomo) Benson and his son, Christopher Benson Jr., his mother Christina Clark, his Aunt Patricia Patton, grandparents Bob and Mary Florez and numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and so many friends.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, Neil Clark, Grandparents Bill and Ada Benson, Uncle Don Patton, Uncle Ervin Benson and Uncle Billy Benson, and cousin Crystal Florez.
Memorial service will be held at Iglesia Apostolica Church located at 303 S. 2 ND Ave. on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 4:30 PM. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. If anyone has it in their heart to help with these final expenses please contact Swaim Funeral Chapel.
