Dodge City - Clara Robertson, 94, died April 16, 2014 at Good Samaritan Center in Dodge City. She was born on May 25, 1919 in Prowers County, Colorado, the daughter of George Henry and Anna Melvina (Kent) Fedde.
Clara graduated from Sargent High School in Monte Vista, Colorado in 1937. On June 30, 1937, she married Fred Robertson in Sargent, Colorado. They lived in San Luis Valley until moving to Dodge City in 1946. In 1952, they moved to Ensign where they operated the Ensign Cafe until retiring in 1976, returning to Dodge City. In 1983, Clara moved to Cimarron where she worked at the Chaparral Cafe until her retirement in 2001. Clara returned to Dodge City to live with her daughter. In 2012, Clara became a resident of Good Samaritan Nursing Home.
Clara is survived by two sons, B.L. Robertson and wife Roxanne of Fort Hancock, Texas and Leo Robertson and wife Grace Ann of Cimarron; two daughters, Marilyn Hickey of Weatherford, Texas and Charlene Graves and husband James of Dodge City; one son-in-law, Don Rohrbaugh and wife Pat of Pittsburg; 12 grandchildren, Troy and Janell Robertson and Nolan and Debbie Robertson all of Dodge City, Lisa and Brad Chalkley of Cimarron, Jenise and Darrell Kennener of Boyd, Texas, Lonnie and Lora Hickey and Jay and Darla Hickey all of Weatherford, Texas, Cara and Wade Scofield and Chera and Dave DeLisle all of Burnet, Texas; Cale and Belinda Robertson of Las Cruses, New Mexico, Colt and Cody Robertson both of Fort Hancock, Texas, and Dustin Graves of Pittsburg; 21 great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Fred, Clara is preceded in death by her parents and one daughter Kathryn Rohrbaugh, son-in-law, Ronnie Hickey, daughter-in-law, Cindy Robertson; one brother, Lloyd Fedde; and two sisters, Thelma Turner and Enola Stockham.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 10:30 AM with Mr. Jason Goetz presiding. Burial will follow at Cimarron Cemetery in Cimarron. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Friday, April 18, 2014 from noon to 8:00 P.M.. Memorials are suggested to Wilroads Gardens Christian Church in care of the funeral home.
