Sublette - Claude Ray Reynolds, 88, died February 3, 2022 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He was born on April 15, 1933 in Japton, Arkansas the son of William Gallen and Kate (Jordan) Reynolds.
Claude spent his early childhood in the area around Fayetteville, Arkansas. On October 11, 1952, he married Maxine Watson. She preceded him in death on March 26, 1990. The couple moved to Kansas in 1959, living in various places before moving to Sublette in 1971. They raised three children together, Danny, Kenneth, and Renee.
Claude worked for Bob Brennan Farms for 41 years before retiring. After retirement, Claude went to work part time for the Haskell County road department as seasonal help. Claude enjoyed riding horses, trail riding, and four wheelers. His love for his family was very evident. He loved to spend time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, teaching them many valuable life lessons along the way.
He is survived by two sons, Danny Reynolds and wife Susie of Oakley and Kenneth Reynolds and wife Marilyn of Holcomb; a daughter, Renee Bales and husband Don of Lewis; six grandchildren, Rachel Bell (David) of Lincoln, Donna Bales of Salina, Kristy Reynolds (Tim Parsons) of Fairmont, Minnesota, Machelle Varney (Bryan) of Dows, Iowa, Brian Reynolds (Crystal) of Augusta, and Brandon Reynolds (Bree) of Sharon Springs; 10 great grandchildren, Jonathan, Benjamin, and Titus Bell, Abree Reynolds, Treighton Roach, Timmy and Logan Parsons, Tashawnia and Jaicin Ploshnick, and Dakota Custard. Claude is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maxine; six brothers, Frank, Olen, Doyle, Willie, Harvey, and Charlie Reynolds; and four sisters, Juel Paschal, Maxine McCullah, Bessie Davidson, and Cleo Morehouse.
Graveside service will be held at Haskell County Cemetery, Sublette on Monday, February 7, 2022 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Mark Hornbaker presiding. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Sublette also on Monday. February 7, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
