Scott City - Cloide Boyd, 87, died January 4, 2018 at Park Lane Nursing Home, Scott City. He was born on November 24, 1930 at Barton County, the son of Ellis and Thalma (McDonald) Boyd.
Cloide grew up in Montezuma and attended Montezuma schools. As a young man he moved to eastern Colorado so he could help on the family farm. He married Corrine (Omo) Bogerd on May 19, 1956 in Raton, New Mexico. Cloide drove a truck for Kindsvater Trucking and later was the farm manager for Warner Ranch until his retirement.
Mr. Boyd is survived by two step-daughters, Sharon Strecker of Wichita and Darla Jean Craner of Levittown, Pennsylvania; six step-grandchildren; eight step-great grandchildren; and four step-great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and step-grand daughter.
Graveside service will be held at the Cimarron Cemetery on Monday January 8, 2018 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Mike Keating presiding. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel of Cimarron on Sunday January 7, 2018 from Noon to 6:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Park Lane Nursing Home or Cimarron Library both in care of Swaim Funeral Chapel, 1901 6 th Ave, Dodge City, KS.
