Obituary

Dateline - DODGE CITY, Connie L. Chacon, 76, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at her home in Dodge City. She was born on October 26, 1933 at Howell, the daughter of Luciano and Marie (Rodriguez) Lopez.

Mrs. Chacon married Florentino N. "Tino" Chacon on February 4, 1950 at Raton, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on January 24, 1991. A lifetime Dodge City area resident, she and her husband lived for a few years in Kinsley, moving to Dodge City 1956. She was employed for several years as a cook and housekeeper with the Silver Spur Lodge in Dodge City.

She was a member of Cathedral Of Our Lady Of Guadalupe, Dodge City, and was a former auxillary president of the American G.I. Forum.

Survivors include, four daughters, Victoria Villegas, Diana Fernandez, Dolores Beltran,and Nikki Neave all of Dodge City; one brother, Roger Lopez of Dodge City, three sisters, Annie Torres of Florida; Della Scata of Vista, California; and Elsie Lopez of Dodge City, twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and two sisters.

Funeral Mass will be held at Cathedral Of Our Lady Of Guadalupe on Friday, April 16, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Ted Skalsky presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Vigil service will be at Cathedral Of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Thursday, April 15, at 6:30 P.M. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Thursday, April 15, 2010 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
