Dodge City - Coraillee Bell, 90, died on March 26, 2024 at her home in Dodge City. She was born on May 7, 1933 in Dodge City, the only child of Clarence and Maude (Prescott) Cook.
Coraillee was a lifetime resident of Dodge City. She was a member of the 1951 graduating class of Dodge City High School. Her employment history included working at Scheufler Supply Co. and Fidelity State Bank. On October 9, 1960, she was united in marriage to Thor Waine Bell, in Dodge City, at First Christian Church. After their marriage, Coraillee helped her husband run the family farm and raise their two children, Thalia and Rory. Coraillee had a giving and kind heart, helping out those in need. She would give rides to church for those who needed one, take people to get groceries or with anything else that one might need help. Coraillee touched many people with her kindness.
Coraillee was an active member of First Christian Church in Dodge City. She was a member of the Christian Mates Sunday School class. Coraillee took care of the church library for a number of years, was a greeter for Sunday service, sponsored Bible bowl with the youth, and helped to prepare many funeral dinners throughout the years.
Coraillee is survived by her two children Thalia Bell-Harding (Shawn Harding) of Tecumseh, Kansas, and Rory Bell (Ladonna) of Indianapolis, Indiana; granddaughters Sloane Harding of Dodge City, Kansas, and Mikaela Bridenthal (Ethan) of Brunswick, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Thor.
Funeral service will be held at First Christian Church, in Dodge City, on Monday April 1, 2024 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Dusty Cookson presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, on Monday April 1, 2024 from 9:00 AM to Noon. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to First Christan Church or to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation ( T2T.org) in care of the funeral home.
