Corinne "Coe" Steele, 90, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at her residence in Dodge City. She was born on May 10, 1920 in Ford County, the daughter of Zachariah and Martha (Alton) Hager. She attended schools in Ford. Corinne married Everett Steele, July 6, 1938 and they farmed together for many years until his death in 2001. She loved helping her daughter, at Tandy's Hallmark, arrange flowers and create displays.


She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Dodge City.




Survivors include one daughter, Tandy Kornechuk and husband Paul of Dodge City; two grandsons, Paul Kornechuk, III of Dodge City and Tener Steele of Portland, Oregon; and one great grandson, Kaden Steele of Portland, Oregon. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gun Steele; four brothers, Dale, Frances, Zack and Ansel Hager; and one sister, Thelma (Hager) Williams.

Memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Dodge City on Friday, July 9, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Lance Carrithers officiating. Memorials can be made to First United Methodist Church, Hospice of the Prairie or Ford County Humane Society in care of the funeral home. There will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
