It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Cristina Quezada-Leon, 25, a cherished daughter, sister, and devoted paraprofessional, who left this world far too soon on May 7, 2026, in her beloved hometown of Dodge City, Kansas. Born on April 7, 2001 to Severiano and Marianela Quezada. Cristina illuminated the lives of those around her with her vibrant spirit, kindness, and unwavering dedication.

She dedicated herself to her work within the USD 443 school district, serving as a paraprofessional who inspired countless students with her patience and compassion. Her presence brought joy, understanding, and support to those she worked with, embodying the values of resilience and love. Her students described her as magical.

Cristina had many hobbies. She enjoyed painting and drawing as well as singing and dancing. She also loved to bake and cook. She was known to make the best banana bread. She had a light that filled every room she entered. Her smile and laugh were contagious. She was silly and radiated love. Cristina was always willing to help anyone. To know her was to love her. Most importantly, her relationship with God was her main focus. He was her best friend.

She leaves behind a grieving family who will forever hold her in their hearts. Her father, Severiano Quezada, and mother, Marianela Quezada, along with her devoted siblings, Jeanette Quezada and partner, Ivan Lira and his children, Ivan, Isaiah, and Isela Lira; Alejandro Quezada (Ariana Salvador); aunts and uncles, Rosie Quezada, Jesse Quezada (Kelin), and Luis Leon (Sarah); and her sister-friend, Adriana Gallego and her children, Anthony and Noemi Gallego. She also leaves behind her beloved partner, Nabor Leal and his son, Jariel Leal whom she loved as her own; as well as her partner's parents, Nabor and Augustina Leal and their children, Magdaleno Leal (Crespina Heredia) and Agustina Leal; her maternal grandparents, Zoila and Jesus Quezada; as well as many aunts and uncles and extended family who mourn the loss of their beloved Cristina, whose laughter and light will echo in their memories for eternity. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Jose Cruz Quezada and Natividad Rutiaga. 

The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Iglesia Cristiana Getsemani, 706 S.14th Ave., Dodge City, KS 67801 at noon with a burial to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 from 2:00 to 8:00PM at Swaim Funeral Chapel of Dodge City.

Con profundo pesar anunciamos el fallecimiento de Cristina Quezada-León, de 25 años, una amada hija, hermana y dedicada paraprofesional, quien partió de este mundo demasiado pronto el 7 de mayo de 2026, en su querida ciudad natal de Dodge City, Kansas. Nacida el 7 de abril de 2001, hija de Severiano y Marianela Quezada, Cristina iluminó las vidas de quienes la rodeaban con su espíritu vibrante, su bondad y su inquebrantable dedicación.

Se entregó de lleno a su labor dentro del distrito escolar USD 443, sirviendo como paraprofesional e inspirando a innumerables estudiantes con su paciencia y compasión. Su presencia brindaba alegría, comprensión y apoyo a sus compañeros de trabajo, encarnando los valores de resiliencia y amor. Sus estudiantes la describían como alguien "mágico".

Cristina tenía muchas aficiones. Disfrutaba pintar y dibujar, así como cantar y bailar. También le encantaba hornear y cocinar; era famosa por preparar el mejor pan de plátano. Poseía una luz propia que llenaba de calidez cada habitación en la que entraba. Su sonrisa y su risa eran contagiosas. Era una persona divertida y radiaba amor. Cristina siempre estaba dispuesta a ayudar a cualquiera; conocerla era amarla. Y, lo más importante, su relación con Dios era el centro de su vida; Él era su mejor amigo.

Deja atrás a una familia doliente que la llevará por siempre en sus corazones: su padre, Severiano Quezada, y su madre, Marianela Quezada; junto con sus devotos hermanos: Jeanette Quezada y su pareja; Iván Lira y sus hijos Iván, Isaiah e Isela Lira; Alejandro Quezada (Ariana Salvador); sus tios y tias, Rosie Quezada, Jesse Quezada (Kelin), y Luis Leon (Sarah); y su amiga-hermana, Adriana Gallego y sus hijos Anthony y Noemí Gallego. También deja a su amada pareja, Nabor Leal, y a su hijo, Jariel Leal -a quien amó como si fuera su hijo propio; así como a los padres de su pareja, Nabor y Augustina Leal, y a sus hijos: Magdaleno Leal (con Crespina Heredia) y Agustina Leal. Asimismo, le sobreviven sus abuelos maternos, Zoila y Jesús Quezada, además de numerosos tíos y familiares extendidos que hoy lloran la pérdida de su querida Cristina, cuya risa y luz resonarán en sus recuerdos por toda la eternidad. Le precedieron en la muerte sus abuelos paternos, José Cruz Quezada y Natividad Rutiaga.

El servicio fúnebre se llevará a cabo el jueves 14 de mayo de 2026 en la Iglesia Cristiana Getsemaní, 706 S. 14th Ave., Dodge City, KS 67801 al mediodia, seguido del sepelio en el Cementerio Maple Grove, en Dodge City. Se realizará un velorio el miércoles 13 de mayo de 2026, de 2:00 p. m. a 8:00 p. m., en la Capilla Funeraria Swaim de Dodge City.
