Dodge City - Cynthia Lopez, 74, died June 24, 2022 at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born on December 3, 1947 at Dodge City, Kansas the daughter of William and Martha (Koehn) Smith.

Mrs. Lopez graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor's degree in Journalism. She worked as a paraprofessional for USD# 613 for many years. She loved working on different arts and craft projects in her spare time. Mrs. Lopez also loved spending time with her grandchildren and baking cookies for them. She was also a very faithful and active member of the Abundant Life Family Church in Dodge City.

She was a member of the Abundant Life Family Church of Dodge City.

She is survived by one daughter Teresa Soto of Dodge City; one son Michael Lopez of Dodge City; two brothers Steve Smith and Gordon Smith and three sisters Barbara, Elaine and Mary Ann. Mrs. Lopez is also survived by her three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial service will be held at Abundant Life Family Church on Friday July 29, 2022 at 10:00 AM with Dr. Jim Ames and pastor Lydia Ames presiding. Inurnment will follow at Scroggins Memorial Mausoleum in Dodge City. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
