Obituary

Dale Edwin Beadle, 83, died March 30, 2011 at Presbyterian Manor of the Plains in Dodge City. He was born on May 2, 1927 in Wright, the son of William Harrison and Lida Anzo (Kidd) Beadle.

Mr. Beadle was born on the family farm in Ford County. He lived all of his life in and around the Dodge City area. He was drafted into the United States Army at the age of 18. Ed served overseas during the occupation of Germany. Before going to Germany, he married Mildred Jantz of Montezuma on November 16, 1945. She preceded him in death on September 24, 2008. They had three children and three grandchildren. Mr. Beadle worked for Hulpieu Miller and Johnson Floor Covering laying floor covering for over 50 years before retiring. Ed enjoyed playing golf and was a member of Mariah Hills Golf Course for many years.

He was a lifetime member of Howard Gotschall Post #1714 V.F.W. of Dodge City and also a member of the Senior Friends.

Ed is survived by one son, Keith Beadle and wife Lavonn of Dodge City; two daughters, Kathy Beadle of Wichita and Kristy Gillman and husband Roger of Wichita; three grandchildren, Amanda and Russel Beadle and Kelsey Gillman; and one brother, Jake Beadle of Olathe. In addition to his wife, Mildred, Ed is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Charles and Frank; two sisters, Tish Morrow and Clara May Wade; and a daughter-in-law, Dee Beadle.

Funeral service will be held at Grace Communtiy Church in Dodge City on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor Kirk Larson presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City with military rites by Howard Gotschall Post #1714 V.F.W. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City on Sunday, April 3, 2011 from noon to 6:00 P.M. Memorials are suggested to the Presbyterian Manor of the Plains in care of the funeral home.
