Satanta - Damon Guy Brown, 53, died May 27, 2013 in Amarillo, Texas. He was born on September 5, 1959 in Satanta, the son of Theri Guy and Maxine M. (Nelson) Brown.

Damon was a lifetime resident of Satanta. He attended Satanta High School. Damon was a Master Carpenter, working for JAG Construction and Lee Construction. He later had his own construction business. Damon enjoyed making jewelry and was an avid reader. His children and grandchildren were the most important part of his life.

Damon is survived by three children, Jazime Brown and Sheali Brown both of Lakin, and Ian Brown of Lubbock, Texas; four sisters, Beverly Myers of Sublette, Deborah Williamson and husband Lawrence of LaPort, Colorado, Angie Ives and husband Randy of Satanta, and Cindy Patterson of Copeland; one brother, Pride Brown and wife Kathy of Kiowa; and four grandchildren, Trey Hayzlett, Devawny Brown, Kamora Dean, and Everette Dean.He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Kim Brown-Meairs.

Funeral service will be held at Satanta Baptist Church on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Larry Lathem presiding. Burial will follow at Dudley Township Cemetery in Satanta. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel of Sublette on Friday, May 31, 2013 from noon to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Damon Brown Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
