Ensign – Daniel Ray Miller, 69, died November 21, 2014 at his home in Ensign. He was born February 23, 1945, in Pamona, California. He was the son of Lawrence Raymond and Dortha Helen (Moses) Miller.
Daniel graduated from Yucaipa High School in 1963. His family moved from California to a family farm West of Ensign in 1965. He married Linda D. Beggs on September 7, 1968 in Ensign, KS. Daniel worked for the Ensign COOP, Big "A" Auto Parts and then started his own business, Central Satellites, where he worked until he retired. His hobbies included rebuilding his 1964 ½ Mustang. Daniel also enjoyed working with computers and electronics.
He was a member of the Ensign Methodist Church, Ensign Masonic Lodge #413, and served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War (1965-1969).
Daniel is survived by his wife, Linda D. Miller; three children, daughter Tracy and husband Jay Carnes of Adrian, Texas; son Matthew and wife Jacqueline Miller of Lyndon; daughter Britta and husband Michael Clark of Dodge City; mother, Dortha Helen Miller of Lubbock, Texas; sister, Donna and husband Ronald "Rock" Hessman of Hutchinson; two brothers, Robert "Bob" Miller and Steven Miller of Lubbuck, Texas; nine grandchildren: Morgan and husband Coe May, Trae Phillips, Kenna Miller, Collin Clark, Tanner Carnes, Mataya Clark, Toby Miller, and Daxten Miller; and one great-grandchild, Kannen May. He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Ray Miller, Jr. and father, Lawrence Raymond Miller.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. with the Rev. Dick Robbins presiding. Burial will follow at Johnson Cemetery in Gray County with military rites by Howard Gotschall Post #1714 V.F.W. and KSARNG Military Honors. Masonic graveside rites will be conducted by Ensign Masonic Lodge #413. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 12:00 - 8:00 P.M.
