Dodge City - Daniel Edward Pierce, 64, departed this life on his birthday to be with his Lord and Savior. He passed away at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City on January 11, 2022 after a short illness. Dan was born on January 11, 1958 at Independence, to Earl and Patsy (Chambers) Pierce.
Danny lived most of his life in Dodge City. He graduated from Dodge City High School. After graduation, he worked in maintenance. He took pride in his work, and most recently was employed by Boot Hill Casino as head night shift supervisor. After returning to Dodge City from serving in the United States Army, he met and married Eva Ramirez, the love of his life for 30 years.
Danny loved the Lord and liked to sing and play the drums at Amazing Grace Penticostal Holiness Church.
He is survived by his wife, Eva Pierce of the home; daughter, Cindy R. (Mike) Salinas of Uvalde, Texas; son, Ernesto Lopez Ramos of Dodge City; sister, Sharon (Tom) Imel of Dodge City; brothers, Don (Sandy) Pierce of Dodge City and David (Sonia) Pierce of Hutchinson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Patsy Pierce; son, Richard Ramirez; and sister, Debra Pierce.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Dodge City on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Vernon Bogart presiding. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Friday, January 14, 2022 from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Cremation will take place after the services.
