Obituary

Danny L. "Dan" Davison, 77, passed away on July 12, 2026, at his home in Copeland, surrounded by his family. He was born on October 3, 1948 in Garden City, the son of Wayne and Elva (Dunnsworth) Davison.

Dan was a longtime Copeland resident. On June 17, 1967, he was united in marriage to Harvena Myers. They were married for 52 years. Together, they had two children, Randy and Sharleen. Dan went to work at Dunham Drilling repairing irrigation well pumps and later worked at Nelson Implement as a mechanic. His last job was for Montezuma State Bank as the maintenance man. Dan retired in January of 2018. Dan enjoyed being a part of the community. He was a volunteer firefighter and enjoyed visiting with people in town.

Dan is survived by his children, Randy Davison and Sharleen Unruh and husband Jeff, all of Copeland; three granddaughters, Katelyn Gannon and husband Drew of Hays, Makayla Walker and husband Brady of Copeland, and Kristen Davison of Park City; four great grandchildren, Noah and Alliah Gannon and Jetson and Rhettley Walker; and a sister, Joy Torrez and husband Roger of Great Bend. He is preceded in death by his wife, Harvena, and his parents.

Funeral service will be at the Copeland Methodist Church on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor Doug Harris. Burial will follow at the Copeland Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 15 from noon to 8:00 PM at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Montezuma with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to the Copeland Fire Department in care of the funeral home.
