SPEARVILLE - Darlene M. Brown, 58, died February 19, 2013 in rural Ford County, Kansas. She was born on November 5, 1954 at Spearville, the daughter of Albert and Alma (Ackerman) Schawe.

She married Dennis Brown on April 10, 1976 at Windthorst, he survives. Mrs. Brown enjoyed gardening in her spare time. She worked as a records clerk for the Ford County Sheriffs Office.

She is survived by her husband Dennis of the home; two brothers Richard Schawe of Spearville, Kansas; Leroy Schawe of Dodge City,Kansas; two sisters Rosella Masten of Dodge City, Kansas; Marilyn Strecker of Heizer, Kansas.

Vigil service will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 10:30 AM with Rev.Wesley Schawe presiding. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Windthorst. There will be no public visitation and the casket will remain closed.
