Dodge City - Darlene Kay Turley, 79, died July 23, 2023 at her home in Dodge City. She was born on August 14, 1943 at Scott City, Kansas.
She worked in Tribune in housekeeping and dietary at the Greeley County Hospital for 30 years. She later went to work for Ampride as a food preparer for many years after retiring from the hospital. Darlene was always working to support her two children and later in life to spoil her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed playing games, dancing and listening to music, especially Elvis Presley. She also loved spending time with her family in her spare time.
She is survived by her daughter Lucinda Hoffman and son-in-law Joseph Neyer and Darlene's grandson Joseph Neyer of Dodge City; one son Danny Hoffman and Fiancee Laura of Tribune, Kansas. Her grandchildren Devin and husband Larry of Dodge City, along with her great grandchildren Jacob, Javier, Garrett, Davien and Jameson. Her granddaughter Felisha and Fiancee Wilfredo of Ensign, along with her great grandchildren Christian, Jasmine, Stephanie, Zayvion and Danitza. She is also survived by a granddaughter Amber and partner Nate of Dodge City, along with her great grandchildren Hailie, Henry, Claire and Braylin.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, three brothers, one sister, one sister-in-law, one great grandson Leizan and a grandson-in-law Isaac.
Memorial service will be held at on Saturday August 12, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Seven Baskets Full Ministry at 1301 West Vine in Dodge City. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Burial will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Darlene Kay Turley Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
