IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David Ray
Bowersox
October 2, 1961 – January 11, 2021
FORT DODGE - David Ray Bowersox was born on October 2, 1961, and went to heaven on January 11, 2021, at the age of 59 years, 3 months, and 9 days.
David grew up in Belleville, Kansas, graduating from Belleville High School in 1980. He honorably served his country in the US Army, which was his proudest accomplishment. Following his army service, he lived and worked in Topeka, Kansas. He lived a very hard-working, quiet, simple life. He loved his family and his country. He was lovingly cared for in the last few years of his life by the staff at the Kansas Soldier's Home at Fort Dodge, Kansas.
He is survived by his father, Lynn Bowersox of Belleville; his sisters Vicky Griggs of Garden City and Lisa (John) Stinson of Wichita, his brother James Bowersox of Concordia, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and two little great nephews. David was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Bowersox, and his mother, Janet (Crannell) Bowersox.
A private memorial service for family will be held at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Fort Dodge. Military honors will be provided by the KSARNG Military Honors and American Legion District 8 Honor Guard. The family requests memorials to go to the Kansas Soldier's Home Activity Fund in care of Swaim Funeral Chapel. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
