Dodge City - David G. (Bear) Cecil, 57, died March 5, 2013 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City. He was born on July 3, 1955 in Dodge City, the son of Gaylord and Beth (Schreck) Cecil.

David was a lifetime resident of Dodge City. He graduated from Dodge City High School and was a mechanic for Western Brake and Gear before retiring. David enjoyed hunting, riding motorcycles, and the outdoors.

He was a member of the Abate Motorcycle Club and the Jedediah Smith Muzzleloaders both of Dodge City.

David is survived by three brothers, Jim Cecil and wife Loretta of Dodge City; Tom Cecil and wife Norma of Raton, New Mexico; and Jerry Cecil and wife Bernie of Parker, Colorado; two nephews, Cory Cecil and wife Cara and Daniel Cecil and wife Lindsey; three nieces, Elizabeth French; Stacy Cecil; and Kelly Cecil; and many friends.He is preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Mr. David Johnson presiding. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Abate Motorcycle Club of Kansas in care of Swaim Funeral Home - 1901 Sixth Ave - Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
