Spearville - David Edward Endres, 80, died March 5, 2024 at his home in Spearville. He was born on August 13, 1943 at Newton, the son of Edward and Anna (Gronau) Endres.
David served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War and Mediterranean Gulf. He was aboard the USS Forrestal when it caught fire in 1967. He Married Shirley Bauer in 2001 at Ft. Dodge and she preceded him in death on May 19, 2013. David was a tinkerer and liked to make things out of PVC pipe and also enjoyed camping and fishing with Shirley.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Spearville.
David is survived by his sister, Dorothy Randall and husband Chuck of Mound City; nephew, Chip Randall and wife Angie of Pleasanton; niece, Annie Murray and husband Adrian of Pittsburg; grand nieces and nephew, Jessie, Katie, Rosie, Clover and Abe. Also surviving are three step children, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, and step grandchildren.
Memorial Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at 10:00 AM with Fr. John Forkuoh presiding. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Spearville with US Navy Honor Guard and SWKS Veteran's Funeral Honor Guard. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to KS Soldiers Home Activity Fund in care of the funeral home. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
