David Lee Harris, born August 15, 1930, went to his Savior on October 16, 2018.

David graduated from Kinsley High School and married his wife of 68 years, Roma Elaine Strate Harris of Kinsley.

David wore many hats and had many interests.  He is best known as a "Chicken Rancher" from Harris & Sons of Dodge City.  He was a printer working with off-set presses, and an avid artist on both a canvas and in sculpture.  David was a faithful man of God and a charter member of Grace Community Church, Dodge City.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd (Bucky) Harris and Rose Ackley Harris and his brothers Phil Harris and Dick Harris.  His surviving relatives include his wife Roma, three children Brent and his wife Pat Harris, Chadd and his wife Cindy Harris, and Shelley and her husband John Thaemert, six grandchildren:  Jamie Rajewski and her husband Kyle, Katie Harris, Casi Rott, Cari Harris, Rachel Miller and her husband Austin, James Thaemert, and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at Grace Community Church in Dodge City on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Kirk  Larson presiding.  Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Dodge City on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM with family present from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  Memorials in David's Memory are suggested to Grace Community Church or Franklin Graham Ministries in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
