Debra Vang passed away on April 24, 2026 at Via Christi St. Frances in Wichita at the age of 68. She was born on April 16, 1958, in Pueblo, Colorado to Jerry and Harriett (Pickerel) Vang.

Her early childhood was spent in Pueblo, Colorado. When Debra was 5, the family moved to Dodge City. She graduated from Dodge City High School and later attended college, majoring in psychology. She lived a life full of compassion, service, and love that touched the hearts of many.

Debra dedicated herself as a mental health counselor for youth, providing guidance and support to countless young people as they navigated life's challenges. Her passion for helping others was not just her profession; it was her calling. She had a remarkable ability to connect with those in need, ensuring they felt heard, valued, and understood.

Family was everything to Debra. She treasured every moment spent with her son, Nathan Vang, and cherished time with her grandchildren. Whether it was a simple family gathering or a grand celebration, Debra's laughter, warmth, and love filled every room, creating lasting memories that will be fondly remembered.

Debra is survived by her son, Nathan and Laura Vang of Russelville, Arkansas; grandsons, Nathan, Jr., Dominick, and Jerry Joe, II Vang and their mother, Maria Vang, and granddaughter, Heavenly Vang; one great grandson, Adriel Vang; a sister, Pamela Tinsley and husband Alan of Amarillo, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from noon to 5:00 P.M. at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Dodge City. Following the visitation, cremation will take place and a private family service will be held at a later time.
