Dodge City - Delores Vargas, 72, died September 16, 2017 at her home in Dodge City.  She was born on March 3, 1945 at Villa Matamoros, Mexico the daughter of Abel and Martina (Valles) Flores.

Mrs. Vargas enjoyed playing bingo and going to church and spending time with her family and friends.  She worked as a housekeeper for various motels in Dodge City.

She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe of Dodge City.

She is survived by five sons Luis Vargas of Mexico; Gerardo Vargas of Dodge City; Chico Vargas of Dodge City; Raul Vargas of Dodge City; Jason Vargas of Dodge City; one daughter Griselda Vargas of Dodge City and sixteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by four brothers Abel Flores of Dodge City; Jesus Flores of Arizona; David Flores of Dodge City; Armando Flores of Mexico and one sister Carmela Flores of Dodge City.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers Jose Luis Flores and Antonio Flores.

Funeral Mass will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Friday September 22, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Aneesh Parappanuttu presiding.  Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.  Memorials are suggested to the Delores Vargas Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
