DELORIS GENE DARK

Dodge City- Deloris Gene Dark, 74, died March 4, 2013 at Wadley Regional Medical Center, Texarkana,Texas. She was born on February 16, 1939 at Uncas, Oklahoma, the daughter of Charles Novy and Lilla Mae (Humphreys) Webster.

She moved with her family to Dodge City in 1948. She attended high school at Southwest Bible Institute in Waxahachie, Texas, and after graduation, attended Evangel College in Springfield, Missouri. On April 17, 1960, she married Bill Dark at Dodge City. He died August 28, 2012. In 1964 they moved to Kinsley. During that time she worked as a secretary for Kinsley High School. She was later employed with WW Manufacturing in Dodge City, working in the business office. She moved to Oklahoma in 1989, and also resided for a short time in Arkansas.

Survivors include, three sons, Scott Dark and wife Barb, and Kent Dark and companion Carla Brattin, all of Dodge City, Brad Dark and wife Alyssa, Vancouver, Washington; three sisters, Dorothy Hancock, Plainview, Texas; Carolyn Caler and Naomi Fox, both of Syracuse, five grandchildren, Adam, Mason, Jacob, Tyler, and Nichole Dark, and twenty nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Cleve Pogue, Murle Webster, and infant sister, Clara Mae Webster.

Funeral service will be held at First Assembly of God Church 2301 N. 14th Avenue, Dodge City, on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Ryan Webster presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The casket will not be open at the church.
