Spearville - Dennis K. Merica, 77, died May 2, 2024 at his home in Spearville, Kansas. He was born on December 31, 1946 at Colby, Kansas the son of Marvin and Edith (Allen) Merica.

He married Andrea Conaway on July 26, 1964, she preceded him in death on August 5, 1988. Dennis later married Sherri Howard on June 17, 1989, she survives. He kept busy working with Alan, and working in his yard and on his pickups. He loved visiting with his neighbors and friends and cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. Dennis leaves behind his dear friends Alan, Henry, KW and Tony Jo. Dennis worked for National Carriers for 36 years and had over 4 million miles of save driving.

He is survived by his wife Sherri of the home; three sons David Merica and wife Karen; Chris Merica and wife Elaine; Curtis Merica and wife Jackie; one daughter Stacey Merica; one step son Troy Johnson and wife Mardesia; two step daughters Jenny and husband Thad Brown; and Hayley Howard. He is also survived by three grandchildren Daniel Merica, Sydney and Wyatt Merica. He is also survived by fourteen step grandchildren Joshua, Malik, Kade, Keera, Felicity, Preston, Bethany, Alaina, Treg,  Alex, Misty, Jarrod, Brianna and Michele.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Andrea and one sister Melody..

Graveside Memorial service will be held at Silent Land Cemetery on Thursday May  9, 2024 at 11:30 AM with Mr. David Merica and Mr. Troy Johnson presiding. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to Donor's Choice in care of the funeral home.
