DERRY L. " DUB " MALONE

Cimarron - Derry L. "Dub" Malone, 60, died May 7, 2013 at Woodward, Oklahoma. He was born on November 10, 1952 at Garden City, Kansas, the son of Roy and Natalie Hesser Malone.

He grew up in Copeland, Kansas, and attended schools there. He was a graduate of Copeland High School. He attended Dodge City Community College. He married Sherry Ashby and they were blessed with one son Wes. He later married Laura Mitchell.

He was an avid rodeo fan, and for thirty five years, participated in bull dogging. He was an independent truck driver for several years, and later worked for Steve Hilker Trucking.

Survivors include one son Wes Malone, North Platte, Nebraska; three brothers, Leon Malone and wife Barbara, Plains; Elmer Malone and wife Janet Meadows Malone, Cimarron; Don Malone and wife Sue, Plains; three sisters, Charlotte Keller and husband Bob, Halstead; Diane Palmer and husband Rex, Meade; and Jeannie Stucker, Denton, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Max Malone and his wife Adriene.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Copeland Cemetery , Copeland, with Rev. Bruce Titus presiding. Burial will follow at Copeland Cemetery. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to Copeland Cemetery in care of Swaim Funeral Home, 1901 6th Avenue, Dodge City, Kansas, 67801.
