IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Diane
Rohrbaugh
January 12, 1951 – June 18, 2024
Cimarron - Cimarron - Marsha Diane (Mock) Rohrbaugh, 73, died June 18, 2024 at her home in Cimarron, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Fowler, to Bruce Dale and Marjory "JoAnne" (Hoskinson) Mock, on January 12,1951.
After a short time living in Fowler, they moved to Mt. Hope Kansas, eventually settling in Dodge City where Diane blossomed into an outgoing cheerleader, drill team member, twirler and active student. She knew no stranger and was a friend to everyone but none better or closer than her mother! She was always upbeat, inspirational, with an infectious positive attitude and an obsession with butterflies and the color yellow. She loved the annual camping trips with her parents and siblings, a tradition she would carry on with her own family.
Diane graduated high school in 1969 before continuing her education at Dodge City Community College where she was voted "Miss Autumn Conquistador" in 1969 before being selected to compete in the "Miss Dodge City" Pageant. While attending DC3, Diane met and fell in love with Buford Rohrbaugh of Cimarron. The two were united in marriage in 1970 and went on to attend Kansas State University together. They later relocated back to Cimarron where they had three children, Dennis, David and Cynthia.
Diane's love for all children would lead her to opening a daycare in her home for many years, providing after hours care for first responders and even emergency sleepovers. She went on to work at the school cafeteria for years before joining the team at Youthville in Dodge City, caring for abused children. From there she retired to spend more time with her grandchildren and begin her long hard-fought battle with cancer. Through it all her positive attitude was a great example for us all.
Diane's faith was strong, and she demonstrated this every day. She was a kindhearted person, always very giving. A great mother, grandmother, wife, sister, daughter, cousin, aunt, and friend to many. She was highly respected by all who knew her best.
She is survived by her three children, Dennis Rohrbaugh and wife Anna of Dodge City, David Rohrbaugh of Key West, Florida, Cynthia Rohrbaugh of Cimarron and their father, Buford Rohrbaugh of Cimarron; her mother, JoAnne Mock of Dodge City; three siblings, Dean Mock and wife Rhonda of Lenexa, Craig Mock and wife Janie of Dodge City, and Kay Owens and husband Doug of St. Marys; seven grandchildren, Sabel, Seth, Maksym, Carver, Chase, Logan and Ryder. Diane is preceded in death by her nephew, Brett Mock; father, Bruce Mock; and a granddaughter, Paryn Rohrbaugh.
