Montezuma - Diane Marlene Sidebottom, 60, died September 17, 2012 at her home in Montezuma . She was born on November 6, 1951 in Jetmore, daughter of Cleo and Anna Lorrene (Dunn) Phillips.
Diane graduated from Dodge City High School in May of 1969. On November 6, 1969, she married LeRoy Sidebottom in Dodge City. They moved to Montezuma where they raised their family. Diane attended Dodge City Community College and Pratt Community College. She worked as the social service and activities director at the Shepherd's Center in Cimarron. Diane enjoyed many different hobbies, including reading. Family was very important to Diane, especially her grandchildren.
Diane was very involved with the Special Olympics and the Senior Olympics.
In addition her her husband, Diane is survived by five children, Tracey Hogie and husband Dan of Montezuma, Travis Sidebottom and wife Stephanie of Ensign, Terry Sidebottom of Montezuma; Trisha Koehn and husband Keith of Montezuma, and Tonya Bagwell and husband Devin of Dodge City; 11 grandchildren, Tyler, Mikayla, Bryce, Brooklyn, Bryanna, Brittany, Haley, Tiffany, Texas, Brandon, and Jessica; three sisters, Marilyn Phillips of Montezuma, Juanita Boatright and husband Tom of Atlanta, Georgia, and Carol Thomson, McPherson; three brothers, Jim Phillips and wife Linda of Dodge City, Ed Phillips and wife Twilla of Dodge City, Rick Phillips and wife Pat of Oklahoma; two sisters in law, Stella Phillips of Dodge City and Twanna Phillips of Marion; many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Harold and Donny Phillips.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Morningside Church Fellowship Hall in Montezuma on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. There is no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to Shepherd's Center of Cimarron in care of Swaim Funeral Chapel of Montezuma - PO Box 421 - Montezuma, KS 67867.
