Obituary

Dixie Diefenderfer,96,died Sunday,January 3,2010 at Trinity Manor Nursing Home at Dodge City, KS. She was born on September 13, 1913 at Denison, TX the daughter of Edward and Mary (Mack) Diefenderfer.

She graduated from Denison High School in Denison,Texas and continued her education at the University of Texas at Galveston, Texas. Ms. Diefenderfer also graduated from Barnes School of Anesthesia in St. Louis, Missouri. She served her country in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Anesthetist with the 110th Evac Hospital. She also served as a Anesthetist during the Korea War at a MASH unit.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Circle #2, Discovery Sunday School Class all of Dodge City, and Denison Public Library Board Member of Denison, Texas.

Survivors;
2 Nieces Elizabeth Dailey of Topeka and Mary McKemy of Florida and 2 grand nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Regina Maas presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City, KS. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Memorials can be made to Trinity Manor or the First Presbyterian Church in care of the funeral home.
