DODGE CITY- Dona W. Warshaw, 91, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Carriage House, Greensburg, KS. She was born on April 7, 1919 at Handsboro, Ms., which is now Gulfport, MS., the daughter of Steve and Ivy (Loposer) Wilson.
Mrs. Warshaw attended local schools in Gulfport, Mississippi, and graduated from Gulfport High School. She later graduated from Mississippi State College for Women in Columbus, Mississippi. After graduation, she worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Gulfport. On February 6, 1945, she married Max Warshaw in Gulfport. He preceded her in death on November 14, 1997. They moved to Dodge City in 1945 where they remained. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Dodge City.
Survivors include two sons Dr. Mark Warshaw, Bill Warshaw and wife Joyce, both of Dodge City, one sister, Sybil Fant of Gulfport, MS; and one grandson. She was also preceded in death by one son Eric Warshaw, and two brothers.
Memorial services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church on Friday, May 7, 2010 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Regina Maas and Rev. Dennis Zimmerman presiding. Inurnment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City, KS. There will be no visitation, as cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register book from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM Thursday, at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City. Memorials can be made to Palmer Home For Children in care of the funeral home.
