Obituary

Dodge City - Donald E. Foster, 84, died January 30, 2013 at Trinity Manor Nursing Home, Dodge City. He was born on April 24, 1928 at Great Bend, KS the son of Everett and Ina (Davis) Foster.

He moved to Haskell County in 1930 and attended school at Sublette. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Foster married Kathleen Ausmus on April 19, 1953 at Kinsley, she survives. He has been a Dodge City resident since 1953. He worked at the United West Community Credit Union for 25 years before retiring in 1990. He later worked for Earl Carlson Painting Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Mildred Miller and Merle Dimmitt.

He was a member of the of the First United Methodist Church and Pairs and Squares Square Dance Club.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen of the home, three sons Darrell Foster of Westminister, Colorado; Douglas Foster of Yuciapa, California; Kyle Foster of Mentone, California. He is also survived by a stepson Joe Ausmus of Dodge City and seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at First United Methodist Church on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Lance Carrithers presiding. Burial with full military honors by Howard Gotschall VFW Post #1714 will follow at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Ft. Dodge . Visitation will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Sunday, February 3, 2013 from 12:00 to 6:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church or to Trinity Manor Nursing Home in care of the funeral home.
