Donna Louise Slattery, 67, died May 23, 2011 at Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita. She was born on October 5, 1943 at Los Angeles, CA the daughter of Lawrence and Odele (Derby) Vandehey.

Donna grew up in the Los Angeles area and attended school at Dominguez High School in Compton, California. She married James O. Slattery on April 20, 1963 in Compton, California. Mrs. Slattery loved her grandchildren and enjoyed the Kansas City Royals.

She was a member of the St. Andrew Catholic Church of Wright and the Ladies Auxilary of Howard Gotschall Post #1714 V.F.W. of Dodge City.

Mrs. Slattery is survived by her husband, James O. Slattery of Wright; two sons, Mark Slattery and wife Shannon of Larned and Tom Slattery and wife Bridget of Thomas, Oklahoma; a daughter, Lisa Statton of Wright; a twin brother, Dan Vandehey and wife Judy of California; a sister, Carol St. Thomas and husband Ron of Fernley, Nevada; and eight grandchildren, Aaron Clare, Ashleigh, Jeremiah, Ricky, Christopher, Christian, Connor, Corbin Slattery.

Besides her parents, Donna was preceded in death by a son, James L. Slattery and one brother, Thomas Lloyd Vandehey.

Funeral mass will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Wright on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Robert A. Schremmer presiding. Burial will follow at St. Andrew's Cemetery in Wright. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Thursday, May 26, 2011 from noon to 5:00 P.M. Vigil service will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, May 26, 2011 at the church.
