Dodge City - Dora Hernandez, 55, died October 21, 2019 at her home in Dodge City.  She was born on March 14, 1964 in Levelland, Texas the daughter of Joe and Geneva (Valardez) Hernandez.

Dora attended high school in Ulysses.  She later earned her CNA certificate and worked in a nursing home in Ulysses.  Dora later moved to Dodge City.  She was a stay at home mom, taking care of her children and grandchildren.  Dora enjoyed drinking coffee with friends, listening to music, and being with her family.

Dora is survived by three children, Joey Hernandez, Darcie Bargos, and Ericka Rosales; two step children, Antonio Ramos and Ishmael Ramos; seven siblings, Martin Hernandez, Barbara Hernandez, Marcel Hernandez, Teresa Hernandez, Delia Hernandez, Ruben Hernandez, and Katherine Sandoval; and two grandchildren, Jenicka and Joselyn Hernandez.  She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Joey, Bennie, and Jessie.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel also on Thursday beginning at 1:00 PM.  Cremation will follow the service.  Memorials are suggested to the family in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
