LAS VEGAS - Doris (Clark) Batt-Engel, 83, died October 19, 2011 at Prescott, Arizona. She was born on August 25, 1928 at Dodge City the daughter of Samuel and Ruth (Baxter) Clark.
Doris was born and raised in Dodge City. She owned Doris's Ceramic Shop in Dodge City. Doris was a former resident of Dodge City, Hutchinson and Liberal prior to moving to Las Vegas in 1969 where she has resided since. She married Lavon (Bud) Batt in 1946 at Dodge City; he preceded her in death. Doris later married Emory Engel at Las Vegas; he also preceded her in death.
She was a former member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Red Hats both of Dodge City.
Doris is survived by her son, Terry Batt and wife Kimberly of Prescott, Arizona; two brothers, Don Clark and wife Ardie of Washington and Sam Clark, Jr. of Oregon; two nieces, Dixie Oringderff and husband Ralph of Dodge City and Sheri Grittman and husband Randy of Seattle, Washington; two nephews, Sam Jones of Las Vegas, Nevada and Larry Merrick of Dodge City; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Verna Jones and her husband Leland and sister-in-law, Esther Merrick and her husband Jack.
Memorial service will be held at Scroggins Mausoleum on Monday, November 14, 2011 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Dennis Zimmerman presiding.
