Obituary

Wright - Doris C. Salmans, 74, died September 8, 2014 in Andover. She was born on February 15, 1940 in Spearville, the daughter of Alfred and Martha (Hornung) Tasset. She grew up on a farm south of Windthorst
and graduated from Windthorst High School.

On October 24, 1959 she married Neil Salmans in Windthorst. She worked for the Wright Coop in Wright for many years. She served God through her music ministry with St. Andrew Catholic Church of Wright. Doris took great pride in her family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed crocheting, quilting and sewing.

She was a member of the St. Andrew Catholic Church of Wright where she was the church organist for many years, and was a member of the Altar Society and served as president of the Wright Senior Center.

Doris is survived by her husband Neil Salmans, Wright; seven children, Keith Salmans and wife Lydia, Ulysses, Ronda Posch and husband Darryl, Andover, Peggy Campbell and husband David, Gunter, Texas, Audry Flores and husband Tony, Hutchinson, Deena Reed, Lakin, Kelli Kennedy and husband Juan, Wichita and Kami Gray, Overland Park; 21 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; nine brothers and sisters, Joanna Baker, Manhattan, Leonard Tasset, De Soto, Texas, Kenny Tasset, Athens, Illinois, Kathy Claussen, Boulder, Colorado, Duane Tasset, Dodge City, Judy Conrady, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Dan Tasset, Leawood, Denise Mayhew, Leawood and Rick Tasset, Broomfield, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Lowell Tasset and a son-in-law Greg Reed.

Funeral service will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church of Wright on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Robert A. Schremmer presiding. Burial will follow at St. Andrew Cemetery in Wright. A vigil service will be held at the church on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 7:00 P.M. The casket will remain closed but friends may sign the book at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, Friday from Noon to 3:00 P.M.. Memorials are suggested to Windthorst Heritage Foundation or to St. Andrew Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
