Fort Dodge - William Duane Conger , 94 , died May 7, 2023 at Kansas Soldiers Home in Fort Dodge. He was born on December 28, 1928 in Natoma, Kansas the son of William and Bethina (Hoskins) Conger .

Duane spent his childhood in Natoma, where he attended school. He went on to further his education at Fort Hays State University and later at Phoenix, Arizona Theological School. Duane enlisted in the United States Army on February 3, 1953. He was honorably discharged on January 11, 1955. Duane worked in construction throughout his life. He married Hazel May Cook on August 16, 1962. She preceded him in death on December 16, 2006.

In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Grant, Ardna, and Ruth.

Graveside service will be held at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at 11:30 AM with military honors by KSARNG Military Honors and American Legion 8 ^th District Honor Guard.
