Dodge City
- Duane A. Mueller, 85, died peacefully at his home in Dodge City April 1, 2014. He was born on July 6, 1928 in Wright, the son of Julius (Red) and Gladys (Schmidt) Mueller.
Duane was a cattleman and farmer for many years in Ford County. He also owned and managed rental property in Dodge City. Mr. Mueller was active with the Wright Athletic Association, enjoyed playing and coaching baseball and softball.
On November 8, 1950 he married Valeria Stein at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Wright.
He was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish of Dodge City.
Duane is survived by his wife, Valeria Mueller of Dodge City; two sons, Michael Mueller and wife Mary of Dallas, Texas and Timothy Mueller of Dodge City; two daughters, Linda Elson and husband Tom and Connie Mueller both of Wichita; three grandchildren, Sara Brenner and Trevor Scott, Christopher Mueller and wife Chrissi, and Kaci Blagg; two great grandchildren, Zac and Blake; four brothers, Harold, Jerry, Thomas and Kenny Mueller; and five sisters, Vivian Weigel, Jeannie Jones, Mary Ellen Bishop, Barbara Warriner, and Janie Riggs. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Lou Ella.
Vigil Service will be held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Friday, April 4, 2014 at 8:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Wesley Schawe presiding. Burial will follow at St. Andrew's Cemetery in Wright. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Friday, April 4, 2014 from Noon to 5:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Prairie in care of the funeral home.
