Obituary

DODGE CITY - Duane E. Weber, better known as "Weber", 76, died November 14, 2020 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City.  He was born on October 25, 1944 at Great Bend, the son of John and Georgina (Domme) Weber.

Duane grew up in Kinsley and was a 1963 graduate of Kinsley High School. He moved to Dodge City in 1967 and has resided here since. The car business was his life from being a mechanic, car salesman, and car buyer. Weber moved to Dodge City to work for Melvin Nufer in 1967 and later owned his own car lot for a short time. In 1969 he began his long affiliation with Goff Motors where he went to work for Don Goff Motors, Goff Motors and G&G Motors until his retirement in 2014. Weber was currently driving for Lewis Automotive Group. Everyone in the car business knew Weber and he could remember anyone and anything in the business to this day. Duane and Marilyn also owned and operated Flowers by Irene from 1990 to 1998.

He joined the Civil Air Patrol in 1968 and was commander from 1969 to 1993. He flew many blood runs and was in charge of many search and rescue missions. Flying was his passion as well as an avid boating person. Being the

#1 fish of the family, everyone learned to ski, tube and wakeboard. Every summer was a fun summer where the Sand Pit "Water Sports" was home and Beaver Lake was vacation. He challenged everyone to do something and always enjoyed it with them.

Duane was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Knights of Columbus of Dodge City.

On October 28, 1967 he married Marilyn Stephens at Sacred Heart Cathedral of Dodge City, she survives. Duane is also survived by his daughter, Sandy Krout and husband Kyle of Minneola; son, Michael Weber and wife Marsha of Dodge City; and a foster program son from St. Mary of the Plains College, Stephen Triggs of Godley, Texas; five grandchildren, Georgina Gall of Dodge City, Whitney Gall and fiance Preston Roberts of Dodge City, Ty Weber of Dodge City, Lexie Gall of Minneola, and Payton Weber of Dodge City; two sisters, Marilyn Rosati and husband Peter and Delores Mull and husband Bill both of Wichita; and a brother, Dale Weber and wife Michelle of Orlando, Florida; sister-in-law, Marcia King and husband Dick of Larned; one niece and six nephews.
