Dodge City - Dulcey "Yogi Bear" Jane Phillips Arzaga, 56, passed away on January 10, 2025 at St. Catherine's Hospital, Dodge City. She was born on January 31, 1968 in Shiprock, New Mexico, the daughter of Charles Yellowhorse and Marilyn Phillips Begay.
She married Jorge Arzaga in 1987. He preceded her in death on January 9, 2008. Dulcey was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe of Dodge City. She worked as a registered nurse. She loved to draw and color, drink Coca-Cola, and watch movies while eating popcorn. She was an avid KU fan. She enjoyed writing poems and spending time with her dog, Champ, and playing lottery tickets. Most of all she loved being a grandma.
Dulcey is survived by her children, Xavier, Dominique, Jorge, Jr., and Mark Arzaga; grandchildren, Acetyn and Ayden Meadows and baby Harris, Adelinee Del Real, and Rontay Nash; a brother, Charles Yellowhorse, Jr.; her dogs, Champ and Royal; and many nieces and nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband; her Chei; and a cousin, Jim Boy.
Funeral service will be held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 10:00 AM with Father John Stang presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Thursday, January 16, 2025 from noon to 5PM with a vigil at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe at 7PM.
