Obituary

Dustin James Knight, lovingly known as Bubba, passed away at his home in Wamego, Kansas, on October 14, 2026, at the age of 41.

Dustin was born on November 2, 1984, in Dodge City, Kansas, to Corky and Melanie (Holuska) Knight.

He graduated from Dodge City High School in 2003 and went on to attend Dodge City Community College, where he earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Industrial Science in 2005.

Dustin had a love for the outdoors and all things mechanical. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and shared a special passion with his dad for working on cars, race cars, motorcycles, and just about anything with a motor. Whether he was turning a wrench or spending time outdoors, Dustin found joy in the things he loved.

But above all else, Dustin's greatest joy and proudest role in life was being a dad to his beloved daughter, Emmalyn. He was a loving, caring, and patient father who had a special tenderness when it came to his little girl. Being a girl dad brought out the gentle giant in him. Princesses, baby dolls, and Barbies became part of his world, and he embraced every bit of it with love. There was nothing he wouldn't do for his little girl, and the love he had for her was immeasurable.

Though Dustin's time here was far too short, the memories he created and the love he shared will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His greatest legacy will forever be the love he gave his daughter and the special place he holds in the hearts of his family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter Emmalyn Knight of the home; parents Corky and Melanie Knight of Dodge City; Sister Tajia Knight and husband Joe Cutright of Wamego, Kansas; uncles Tom Knight and wife Jewell of Dodge City; Scott Knight and wife Joan of Dodge City; Danny Knight of South Carolina; Daniel Holuska of Topeka, Kansas. He is also survived by his aunts Jeralyn Myers and husband Jeff of Missouri and Jill Knight of Texas, as well as numerous cousins.

Funeral Service will be Thursday, October 22, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Swaim Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery . Visitation will be Wednesday, October 21, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Dodge City.
