Fort Dodge - Dwight Dee Ebeling, 70, died April 15, 2023 at St. Catherine Hospital of Dodge City. He was born on February 3, 1953 at Belleville, the son of Lloyd Otto and Ardith A. (Clute) Ebeling.
Dwight joined the United States Navy on June 25, 1973, serving 4 years of active duty during the Vietnam War. After his time with the navy, Dwight worked as a welder and mechanic for John Deere, Great Plains Equipment, as well as Murphy Tractor. Dwight married Diane Byrum in 1975, and together they had three children; Pamela, Deryl and Robby.
Dwight liked spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed riding motorcyles, and was a member of the Patriot Guard. He was a hardworking man, working as a welder as well as building furniture and cabinets. Dwight also loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by daughter, Pamela Dawn Ebeling and spouse Chavas Cochran of Wichita; two sons, Deryl Dee Ebeling and spouse Shaina of Sun City and Robby Dean Ebeling and spouse Tasha; two sisters, Nila Ebeling of Dodge City and Lila Julian of Hoisington; as well as five grandchildren, Aubrey, Ashton, Dylan, Kyndra and Addison. Dwight was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Ardith; sister, Twila Allsman; and brother, Lloyd Leon Ebeling.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Dodge City on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 10:00 AM with Deitra Black presiding. Burial will follow at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in Fort Dodge with military honors presented by the United States Navy Honor Guard and the American Legion District 8 Honor Guard. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Thursday April 20, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the family present throughout that time.
