DODGE CITY - Earl Edward Pierce, 76, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 14, 2009 at his home in Dodge City. He was born on February 24, 1933 at Fredonia the son of Harvey W. and Emma F. (Shoemaker) Pierce.

He married Patsy Chambers on October 8, 1954 and to this union were born three sons and two daughters. Earl was retired from the Ford County Road and Bridge Department.

He was a member of the Living Waters Church of Dodge City and the 700 Club.

Earl is survived by his wife, Patsy Pierce of Dodge City; three sons, Daniel E. Pierce and wife Eva, Donald R. Pierce and wife Sandra of both Dodge City and David A. Pierce and wife Sonja of Hutchinson; daughter, Sharon E. Imel and husband Tom of Dodge City; sister, Sylvia Anderes of Neodesha; and five grandchildren, Richard, Nikki, Tyler, Kenna, and Michael. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters, a daughter, and one granddaughter.

Funeral service will be held at the Living Waters Church, 800 Ave B, on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Siah Edwards presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Monday, August 17, 2009 from Noon to 8:00 PM.
