Dodge City - Edith M. (Helfrich) Hall, 83, died February 20, 2019 at Trinity Manor Nursing Home, Dodge City. She was born on June 25, 1935 at Spearville, the daughter of John T. and Laura F. (Droste) Helfrich.
Edith was a graduate of Ford High School in 1954; where she was active in the band and played basketball. On May 6, 1957 she married Donald D. Hall at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Dodge City. Edith loved her family and her greatest joy was being able to stay home and raise her family. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, going to the casino, and being outdoors taking care of her garden and yard.
She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Dodge City.
Edith is survived by a son, Tim Hall and wife Julie of Dodge City; three daughters, Peggy Hacker and companion Rick Stapleton, Kathy Hall, and Tina Pingsterhaus and husband Dennis all of Dodge City; nine grandchildren, Corey Hacker, Jenny Burnett, Tyler Isenbart, Tiffany Hamilton, Tabitha Isenbart, Chelsie Hall, Nicole Hall, Hillary Pingsterhaus and Kayla Pingsterhaus; twelve great grandchildren; a brother, Robert Helfrich; and three sisters, Doris Garner of Ava, Missouri, Mary Hagar of Wichita, and Charlene Ward of Dodge City. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Hall; a daughter, Cindy Hall, a granddaughter, Tamara Isenbart; two brothers, John L. and Leroy Helfrich; one sister, Wilma Warkenten; and a son-in-law, Gib Hacker.
Vigil Service will be at 7:00 PM on Sunday, February 24 at Swaim Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Monday February 25, 2019 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Wesley Schawe presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Sunday February 24, 2019 from Noon to 7:00 PM.
