Obituary

Dodge City - Edith I. Price, 96, died April 3, 2013 at Alterra Sterling House, Dodge City. She was born on May 12, 1916 at Marion, Kansas, the daughter of Ora Earnest and Lillian (Baxter) Evans.

Edith lived in Marion until moving to Manhattan in 1920 and then came with her parents to Dodge City in 1929. She graduated from Dodge City High School. On December 25, 1936 she married Carlton W. Price in Marion. They lived all their married life in Dodge City. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1985.

Edith was an activities director for the Dodge City Recreational Center for 15 years. She loved bowling, ceramics and flowers, which led her to be a bowling instructor and judged county fairs and flower shows across Kansas.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Dodge City.

Edith is survived by two sons, Bob Price and wife Shirley of Wichita, and Charles Price and wife Balinda of Arvada, Colorado; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother Robert Evans.

A graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. with Dr. Phil Scott presiding. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
