Obituary

DODGE CITY - Edna Mae Boettger, 94, died April 12, 2015 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. She was born on February 22, 1921 at Plains, the daughter of Spencer and Jessie (Shuman) Glover.

Edna was born and raised in Plains the oldest of nine children. She was a 1939 graduate of Plains High School. On June 28, 1941 she married William Fuhrman at Hutchinson. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1975. She later married James Boettger on April 21, 1979 at Larned. He preceded her in death on October 17, 2003. Edna sold Avon for many years and was also a homemaker. She enjoyed collecting angels.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women both of Dodge City, American Legion Auxiliary, where she served as Past President, and V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Edna is survived by two grandsons, Billy Ostrander and wife Stephanie and Todd Ostrander both of Larned; two great grandchildren, Christopher & Tiffany Nauert of Larned; three brothers, Dale Glover of Tucson, Arizona, Gary Glover and Edward Glover both of Calhan, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Marie Ostrander; a granddaughter, Lori Ostrander; two brothers and three sisters.

Memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Lance Carrithers presiding. Burial will follow at Greencrest Cemetery in Dodge City. There will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to Arrowhead West in care of the funeral home.
