Obituary

Edna M. Dirks, 95, died April 9, 2011 at Brookdale Sterling House in Dodge City. She was born on October 17, 1915 at Rush County the daughter of Louis R. and Caroline (Wagner) Misegadis.

She married Erwin A. Dirks on June 6, 1941 at Hope Lutheran Church south of Dodge City. He preceded her in death on May 1, 1986. They lived and worked on their farm southwest of Dodge City. They retired in 1980 at which time they moved to Dodge City. Mrs. Dirks was a devoted wife and mother who loved her Lord.

She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church and Dodge City Seniors.

Mrs. Dirks is survived by three daughters, Karen Folkerts of Lenexa, Janice Simmons of Dodge City, and Bonnie May and husband Gerald of Dodge City; two sons, Eldon Dirks and wife Linda of Ulysses and Mark Dirks and wife Lenora of Dodge City; one sister, Henrietta Dirks of Lindsborg; one brother, Dean Misegadis and wife Betty of Rush Center; 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Erwin on May 1, 1986; four sisters, Esther Dirks, Leona Dirks, Christina Million, and Evelyn Rush; and two brothers, Carl Misegadis and Raymond Misegadis.

Funeral service will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Kent Groethe presiding. Burial will follow at Christ The King Lutheran Cemetery in Ford County. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 from Noon - 8:00 PM.
