DODGE CITY - Edward L. Platt, 57, died October 26, 2014 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. He was born on May 31, 1957 at Dodge City the son of Lloyd A. and Ethel M. (Mullendore) Platt.

A lifetime resident of Dodge City, he was a graduate of Dodge City High School. Eddie worked maintenance at Dodge City High School for 28 years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and fishing. On March 19, 2004 he married Stacey Buehne at Dodge City.

He was a member of the First Christian Church of Dodge City and the Moose Lodge.

Edward is survived by his wife, Stacey Platt of Dodge City; a brother, Danny Platt and wife Elaine of Houston, Texas; two step-brothers, Otis "Buster" Parks and wife Wilma of Houston, Texas and Charles "Frosty" Parks and wife Joyce of Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 10:30 AM with Dr. Phil Scott presiding. Burial will follow at St. Andrew's Cemetery in Wright. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Friday, October 31, 2014 from Noon to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to the Dodge City High School Band in care of the funeral home.
