Eileen E. LEE, 90, died Sunday, July 5, 2009 at Good Samaritan Center in Dodge City. She was born on October 21, 1918 at Plains, CO the daughter of Edward and Mary (Schlereth) Stapleton.
She moved to Hodgeman County in 1930. Eileen married John L. Lee on February 9, 1938, he preceded her in death on March 13, 1988. She was employed by King Cole Bakery, Sturgeon Bakery and the Ft. Dodge Veterans Home, retiring in 1981.
She was a member of Cathedral Of Our Lady Of Guadalupe of Dodge City.
Survivors include two daughters, Pat Winger of Dodge City and Mary Johnson of Raleigh, N.C.; two sons, John Edward Lee of Offerle and Vernon Lee of Mesa, Ariz.; two brothers, Walter Stapleton of Hodgeman County and Henry Stapleton of Dodge City; one sister, Ida Kreger of Protection; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, three brothers, one granddaughter and one great grandson.
Friends may sign the guest register book from 12:00 to 5:00 PM Thursday at Swaim Funeral Home. Vigil Service will be held at Cathedral Of Our Lady Of Guadalupe in Dodge City on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be at the Cathedral Of Our Lady Of Guadalupe on Friday July 10, 2009 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Ted Skalsky presiding. Entombment will follow at Scroggins Mausoleum in Dodge City, KS.
