INGALLS - Elaine Marie Scheer, 74, passed at home on August 2, 2018.  She was born on August 14, 1943 at Dodge City, the daughter of Bud and Elsie (Naylor) Stotler.

Elaine was born and raised in Dodge City and graduated from Dodge City High School, where she was active in Orchestra and Tennis. On August 25, 1961 she married Neal L. Scheer at Dodge City. They lived all their lives in Southwest Kansas where they owned and operated a custom hay service. She was a golfer, played softball, bowling, hunting and fishing and was an avid KC Royals and KC Chiefs fan. Elaine also enjoyed music and played the piano, organ and accordion. Her love of music was passed on to her grandchildren and she enjoyed listening to them play, attending concerts, competitions, and other activities they were involved in.

She was active in the First Church of God of Dodge City and Cimarron Golf Club of Cimarron.

Elaine is survived by her husband of 56 years, Neal Scheer of Ingalls; two daughters, Kristi Baudin and husband Kenny of Louisiana and Cindy Colle and husband John of Hutchinson; a son, Darin and wife Mary Alice of Topeka; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Stotler of San Benito, Texas and Carol Turner of Greensburg; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Parker Stotler.

Celebration of life will be held at the First Church of God on Saturday August 11, 2018 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Darrell Hendrickson presiding. Private family interment will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City.  Book Signing will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Friday August 10, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  Memorials are suggested to the First Church of God for Missions or Parkinson's Disease Research both in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
